How to reset the phpBB admin password
In this article we'll show you how to manually reset your phpBB admin password through phpMyAdmin.
In order to reset the password for your phpBB administrative username, you need to go to phpMyAdmin and select your phpBB database from the menu on the left. Then you need to find the users table (by default it will have a phpbb prefix and its full name will be phpbb_users, but the prefix may be different on your installation) and click on it.
Now find the entry for your admin username and click the pencil icon on its left. Next you need to find the field for user_password and replace the current string with the new password you would like to set. Once you type the new password, from the drop-down menu next to it choose MD5. Finally, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Go in order to save the new password. Now you will be able to log into your phpBB administration control panel with the new password.
